Johns Creek is 8-2 against Northview since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Northview got themselves on the board against Lithonia on Thursday, but Lithonia never followed suit. They blew past the Bulldogs 18-0. Considering the Titans have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jordyn Burdick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Burdick was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August.
In other batting news, Jinghan (Hannah) Xu and Anokhi Patel did most of the damage at the plate: Xu went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Patel went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Xu a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Niki Karimifard, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Northview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .852. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Northview is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-16 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Johns Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-17.
Everything went Johns Creek's way against Northview in their previous matchup back in August, as Johns Creek made off with a 15-2 victory. Will the Gladiators repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
