After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Valley View, the Mid Valley Spartans were happy to have found some success on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 52-33 victory over Lakeland. This was payback for Mid Valley, who suffered a 45-38 loss the last time these two teams met.
Mid Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elise Larson led the charge by scoring nine points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chiara Zavislak, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds.
The win got Mid Valley back to even at 4-4. As for Lakeland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mid Valley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Dunmore at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Dunmore presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mid Valley in Pennsylvania (Dunmore is ranked 120th, while Mid Valley is ranked 292nd). As for Lakeland, they will head out on the road to face off against Montrose at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
