After flying high against the Santa Maria Saints last Tuesday, the Cabrillo Conquistadores came back down to earth. Cabrillo was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 55-54 to Paso Robles.
Cabrillo lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Rylie Jenkins, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jenkins has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmyn Hughes, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Cabrillo's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Paso Robles, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Cabrillo will head out on the road to face off against San Luis Obispo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. San Luis Obispo is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Paso Robles, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Mission College Prep at 6:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Mission College Prep is ranked 209th, while Paso Robles is ranked 227th).
