The Covenant Day Lions won against the Christ School Greenies on Friday with 63 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Covenant Day managed a 63-57 victory over Christ School. The win was familiar territory for Covenant Day who now have three in a row.
Covenant Day got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Rivens out in front who scored 21 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rivens has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Tyree White, who scored 12 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Several Greenies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keenan Wilkins, who scored 20 points along with two blocks. Wilkins is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamari Briggs, who scored ten points along with five assists.
Even though they lost, Christ School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Covenant Day only pulled down four offensive rebounds.
Covenant Day's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Christ School, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-5.
Covenant Day will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Charlotte Christian at 7:00 p.m. Charlotte Christian is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Christ School, they will head out on the road to face off against Carolina Day at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina Day will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 472nd, while Christ School is ranked 14th).
