Shadow Hills is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Diamond Bar is on a 17-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Shadow Hills Knights will take on the Diamond Bar Brahmas at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Shadow Hills had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Scorpions 58-31 at home. Given Shadow Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while Hesperia is ranked 521st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shadow Hills' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Victoria Hyatt, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Hyatt hasn't dropped below 15 points for ten straight games. Analiah Cardona was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Diamond Bar's and Eisenhower's game on Thursday was close at halftime, but Diamond Bar turned on the heat in the second half with 43 points. Diamond Bar put the hurt on Eisenhower with a sharp 66-41 victory.
Shadow Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season. As for Diamond Bar, their win bumped their record up to 23-4.
