Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Pleasanton

Pleasanton had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Floresville Tigers/Jaguars. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marcos Guardiola was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Guardiola wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Bazan, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Pleasanton's win bumped their record up to 15-5-2. As for Floresville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6-1.

Pleasanton has already played their next matchup, a 9-5 loss against Uvalde on the 30th. As for Floresville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-1 victory against Devine on the 30th.
