Brea Olinda and Esperanza are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Aztecs at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Brea Olinda is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Brea Olinda barely beat Sonora the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats blew past the Raiders 8-1 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Nicholas Rodriguez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brea Olinda is 6-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nick Davis, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Hayden Gonzales, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Esperanza unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 13-1 to Sonora. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Aztecs have suffered since March 15th.
Esperanza saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tungsten DeArte, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Brea Olinda is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Esperanza, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Esperanza's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Brea Olinda hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .321. It's a different story for Esperanza, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Brea Olinda's hitters?
Everything went Brea Olinda's way against Esperanza in their previous meeting back in March, as Brea Olinda made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Aztecs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
