The Paradise Bobcats will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against the Central Valley Falcons at 3:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Paradise has three straight victories, Central Valley has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Paradise kept a clean sheet against Williams. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Yellowjackets. Give Paradise's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Kira Imrie and
Ruby Wyse, who scored both of Paradise's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 14 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Central Valley's offense. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 8-0 walloping at the hands of University Prep on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Central Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1173rd, while University Prep is ranked 395th).
Paradise has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-2 record this season. As for Central Valley, they dropped their record down to 0-11-1 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything went Paradise's way against Central Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2018 as Paradise made off with a 9-0 win. Does Paradise have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central Valley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
