The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Troy in their matchups with Shenendehowa: they've now lost six in a row.
Troy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tre'Vonte Vantry, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Vantry scored 15 or more points. Legend Merritt was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Troy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Shenendehowa, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Troy will challenge Guilderland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Guilderland is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Shenendehowa, they will head out on the road to face off against Green Tech at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Green Tech presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Shenendehowa in New York (Green Tech is ranked 114th, while Shenendehowa is ranked 241st).
