There's no place like home for the Rockwood Rockets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 53-45 win over Meyersdale on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rockwood also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Meyersdale's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Morgan Walters, who scored 12 points along with five assists, and Madison Berkley who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walters has scored all season. Kelana Blubaugh was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Rockwood pushed their record up to 9-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Meyersdale, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rockwood will challenge Johnstown Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meyersdale won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southern Fulton at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Southern Fulton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 last Monday.
