On Thursday, things could have been worse for Walthill, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-37 loss to East Butler. Walthill has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Butler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison Dewitt, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Dewitt has scored at least 25% of East Butler's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Havlovic, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Walthill's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for East Butler, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4.
Walthill will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Wakefield on January 5, 2024. East Butler won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against High Plains at 4:30 p.m. on December 29th.
