McClintock extended their winning streak to four on Wednesday, bumping them up to 11-8. They put the hurt on the Central Bobcats with a sharp 38-2 win. That looming 38-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Chargers yet this season.
Cooper Furiga made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 5-for-6 with seven RBI, two runs, and two doubles. McClintock is undefeated when Furiga posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Griffin Hopp and Rider Woo did most of the damage at the plate: Hopp went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs, while Woo got on base in all six of his plate appearances with six RBI and three runs. Those five RBI gave Hopp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aaron Navarette, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
McClintock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .710. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
As for Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. They have struggled against McClintock recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
On Central's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Steven Beltran Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McClintock will venture away from home to challenge Alhambra at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Lions have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups. As for Central, they will head out to face off against Crismon at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
