Elizabeth Hungiville put forth a good effort for the losing side as she dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Hungiville is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Smethport struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Even though Austin has not done well against Northern Potter recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Austin narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Northern Potter 35-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Austin.
Smethport has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Austin, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Smethport couldn't quite finish off Austin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 and fell 34-32. Can Smethport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
