The Miramonte Matadors won the last time they faced the Concord Bears, and things went their way on Thursday too. Miramonte breezed by Concord at home to the tune of 60-26. Given Miramonte's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while Concord is ranked 968th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Karena Eberts continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Miramonte's points. Julia Quinn Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Miramonte has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. As for Concord, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.
Miramonte will be playing in front of their home fans against Northgate at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Northgate is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. As for Concord, they will head out on the road to face off against College Park at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
