While Carlmont didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They pulled ahead with a 20-19 photo finish over the Fremont Firebirds on Saturday. The Scots haven't had any issues with the Firebirds recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Emerson Barajas was Carlmont's leading scorer, having posted five points. Barajas also led the team in rebounds with five. Sky Yee took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.

Carlmont's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Fremont, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Carlmont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 38-32 loss against Washington on the 29th. As for Fremont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 33-24 defeat against Willow Glen on the 29th.
