Softball Recap: Northwest Webster Takes a Loss

If Northwest Webster was riding high fresh off their 19-11 takedown of Emmetsburg on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell just short of the Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove Falcons by a score of 9-8 on Thursday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in June of 2024.

Northwest Webster has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.

Northwest Webster has already played their next matchup, a 10-5 victory against Alta-Aurelia on the 20th. As for Odebolt Arthur Battle Creek Ida Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-0 loss against Ridge View on the 20th.
