It was a good run, but the Northeast Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Meade by a score of 61-58. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northeast has scored all season.
Ashton Turman was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with five assists for Meade. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaisean Kenner, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Meade, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Northeast's road trip will continue as they head out to face Dulaney at 5:15 p.m. on December 27th. Dulaney will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. Meade will finish 2023 at home by hosting Francis Scott Key at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Francis Scott Key will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while Meade is ranked 37th).
