Foothill was led to victory by Jay Perez and Elize McAveney. Perez scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and six assists, while McAveney scored 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which McAveney has scored at least 25% of Foothill's points. Another player making a difference was Nella Banuelos, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds.
Despite the loss, United Christian Academy had strong showings from Gisbelle Marquez, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds, and Morgan Kreps, who scored two points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Even though they lost, United Christian Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Foothill only pulled down 24 offensive rebounds.
Foothill's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for United Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.
Foothill's road trip will continue as they head out to face Irvine at 2:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023.
