The Miramonte Matadors entered their tilt with the Northgate Broncos with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Miramonte enjoyed a cozy 58-39 win over Northgate on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for Miramonte, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Karena Eberts was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Miramonte's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marianna Lawrence, who scored 14 points along with three steals and two blocks.
Northgate's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Myhr, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maddison Sardelich, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Miramonte has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Northgate, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miramonte will face off against Clayton Valley Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Northgate, they will head out on the road to take on College Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
