The Chadwick Dolphins were the 50-36 winner over the Mayfield Cubs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Chadwick fell 36-25 to Mayfield on Tuesday. That's two games in a row now that Chadwick has lost by exactly 11 points.
Mayfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elisa Milkie out in front who scored 15 points. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for Milkie. The team also got some help courtesy of Christine Ellis, who scored five points along with nine rebounds.
Chadwick bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for Mayfield, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chadwick will be home for the holidays to greet Flintridge Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Flintridge Prep presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chadwick in California (Flintridge Prep is ranked 36th, while Chadwick is ranked 807th). As for Mayfield, they will be playing at home against Bolsa Grande at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
