The Shikellamy Braves waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Lewisburg by a score of 39-32. That's another feather in the cap for Shikellamy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Shikellamy was led to victory by Lily Fatool and Blaire Balestrini. Fatool scored nine points along with eight steals, while Balestrini scored 12 points along with six steals. Balestrini is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Shikellamy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. As for Lewisburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shikellamy will play host again and welcome Selinsgrove, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Selinsgrove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. Lewisburg won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Our Lady of Lourdes Regional at 12:00 p.m. on January 6th.
