The Central Cabarrus Vikings put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 96-58 win over Northwest Cabarrus on the road. Central Cabarrus has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Central Cabarrus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Josh Dalton, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Dalton posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Desmond Kent Jr., who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Northwest Cabarrus' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Connor Walker, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezekiel Brown, who scored eight points.
Central Cabarrus pushed their record up to 20-0 with that victory, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.9 points per game. As for Northwest Cabarrus, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Central Cabarrus will head out on the road to square off against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Robinson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 465 points over their last six contests.
