Cumberland Valley is 10-0 against Carlisle since February of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Cumberland Valley Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Carlisle Thundering Herd at 7:15 p.m. Cumberland Valley comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
On Tuesday, Cumberland Valley suffered a tough 49-28 defeat at the hands of Central Dauphin East.
Despite their defeat, Cumberland Valley saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Greta Dwyer, who scored nine points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Sienna Manns, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Carlisle managed to keep up with Greencastle-Antrim until halftime last Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Carlisle was the victim of a rough 58-34 loss at the hands of Greencastle-Antrim.
Cumberland Valley bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Carlisle, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.
Cumberland Valley strolled past Carlisle in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 52-37. Will Cumberland Valley repeat their success, or does Carlisle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
