Wasco is 0-10 against McFarland since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Wasco Tigers will be playing at home against the McFarland Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Wasco has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 28.
Wasco suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 70-17 loss at the hands of Shafter. While losing is never fun, Wasco can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1285th, while Shafter is ranked 231st).
Despite their defeat, Wasco saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Camila Almanza, who scored five points, was perhaps the best of all.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Wasco struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Shafter racked up 22 assists.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 56 points the game before, McFarland were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They were dealt a 52-25 defeat at the hands of Strathmore. McFarland has not had much luck with Strathmore recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Wasco bumped their record down to 3-17 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. As for McFarland, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.
