The Union Area Scotties waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Rochester with points to spare, taking the game 50-36. This was payback for Union Area, who suffered a 64-63 defeat the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Lucas Stanley, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Braylon Thomas, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Union Area's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Rochester, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Union Area won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Farrell at 4:30 p.m. on January 13th. Farrell knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven contests -- so hopefully Union Area likes a good challenge. As for Rochester, they will head out on the road to square off against Western Beaver at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western Beaver is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
