The Winters Warriors waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They snuck past Pierce with a 39-33 victory. This was payback for Winters, who suffered a 70-37 loss the last time these two teams met.
Winters got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jordan Tucker out in front who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tucker has scored all season. Emily Dodic was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Winters' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3. As for Pierce, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winters will face off against Colusa at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Colusa will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Pierce, they will head out on the road to square off against Paradise at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
