The Etiwanda Eagles will head out to face off against the Great Oak Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Etiwanda is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Things were looking good for Etiwanda after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Sierra Canyon by a score of 7-5.
Etiwanda handed starting duties to Michael Aleman, who gave a strong showing despite the result: he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. That's the fewest hits Aleman has allowed since back in April of 2025.
At the plate, Angel Mejia was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Severns, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Great Oak was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They fell just short of Los Osos by a score of 3-2.
Great Oak also got a good showing from Devin Cuellar, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Great Oak saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Pink, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Pink is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
Great Oak now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Etiwanda, their record now sits at 1-4.
Etiwanda couldn't quite finish off Great Oak when the teams last played back in March of 2019 and fell 4-2. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
