The S & S Consolidated Rams typically have all the answers at home, but on Tuesday the Paradise Panthers proved too difficult a challenge. They slipped by the Rams 33-32. Given Paradise's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while S & S Consolidated is ranked 578th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gazey Yates continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Nichols, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Paradise's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-7. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for S & S Consolidated, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paradise will take on Callisburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for S & S Consolidated, they will head out on the road to take on Pilot Point at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Pilot Point has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
