Lowndes had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Valdosta on Tuesday. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Wildcats. The Vikings not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 9-0).

Lowndes' victory bumped their record up to 7-20. As for Valdosta, they dropped their record down to 3-22 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Lowndes will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
