After a string of three wins, the Wilson Mules's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 49-40 to Franklin. While losing is never fun, Wilson can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 750th, while the Panthers are ranked 333rd).
Several Mules players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dailyn M, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily M, who scored 13 points.
Wilson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Franklin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-4.
Wilson will head out on the road to face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Eagle Rock is on a seven-game streak of home wins, the Mules a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Franklin will take on the Barristers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jeda Taylor and Ashley Medina.
