The Adelanto Saints won the last time they faced the Sultana Sultans, and things went their way on Friday too. Adelanto came out on top against Sultana by a score of 48-41.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Adelanto to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nina Lacy, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 21 rebounds. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Lacy has scored at least 25% of Adelanto's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanzy Richard, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Sultana lost, one person who can't be blamed is Katelyn Parrish. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with seven assists and three steals. The match was Parrish's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Amyah Jones, who scored 13 points.
Adelanto has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Sultana, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Adelanto will be home for the holidays to greet Hesperia at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hesperia is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Sultana won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Diamond Bar at 4:00 p.m. on December 16th. Diamond Bar presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sultana in California (Diamond Bar is ranked 221st, while Sultana is ranked 811th).
