Meanwhile, winning is just a little bit easier when you drain 12 more threes than your opponent, a fact Georgetown Day proved on Saturday. They walked away with a 66-53 victory over Coolidge. With that victory, Georgetown Day brought their scoring average up to 55.5 points per game.
Georgetown Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Madisyn Moore led the charge by scoring 22 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Moore has scored at least 25% of Georgetown Day's points. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Chen, who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 0 assists.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Georgetown Day, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Everything came up roses for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes against Georgetown Day in their previous meeting back in February as the squad secured a 69-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
