The Gunderson Grizzlies will face off against the Silver Creek Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Gunderson came out on top against Yerba Buena on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Grizzlies blew past the Aztec Warriors 9-1. The win was familiar territory for the Grizzlies, who have now won five contests in a row.
JD Murillo spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Gunderson let Jordan Avila and Dominic Lake run wild. Avila went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Lake went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Lake is becoming a predictor of Gunderson's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brandon Salgado, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on Overfelt with a sharp 12-0 victory. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Robert 'Bobby' Resendez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. Resendez was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayleb Duran, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Nicholas Prum was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Silver Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in ten consecutive matches.
Gunderson's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Silver Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Gunderson has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Silver Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
