Sterne had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 52-12 defeat at the hands of The Academy - San Francisco.
The Academy - San Francisco was led to victory by Eva Zhu and Jessica Sanders. Zhu scored nine points along with four steals, while Sanders scored eight points along with five steals. Another player making a difference was Sally Zeng, who scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Sterne's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for The Academy - San Francisco, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-5.
Sterne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. The Academy - San Francisco will head out on the road to take on Mission at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
