Torres had lost three straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped down to 3-3 to make it four. They lost 9-1 to the Chowchilla Tribe. The Toros were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tribe apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Torres got a good showing from Chris Capelluti, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Capelluti is becoming a predictor of the Toros' success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).
As for Chowchilla, they now have a winning record of 3-2. Considering they have won three games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
On Chowchilla's side, Dillon Watkins and Oliver Fuller were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Watkins didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Fuller tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Watkins went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Fuller went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Those three RBI gave Watkins a new career-high.
In other batting news, Angel Fernandez was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Austin Lathrop was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Torres will be playing at home against Minarets at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Toros surely won't give up without a fight. As for Chowchilla, they will venture away from home to face off against Dos Palos at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Broncos have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.17 runs per game on average), something the Tribe will no doubt try to take advantage of.
