Baseball Recap: St. Bernard's Has No Trouble Against Point Arena

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Bernard). They put the hurt on the Point Arena Pirates with a sharp 12-0 victory on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Crusaders with their most commanding win of the season.

Luke Brunton made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Brunton was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, Tyler Maples was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was T.C. Rinker, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

St. Bernard's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Point Arena, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

St. Bernard's will have a chance to go back-to-back against Point Arena: the pair will be back at it again later today.
