University City hasn't had much luck against Scripps Ranch recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The University City Centurions are taking a road trip to challenge the Scripps Ranch Falcons at 6:00 p.m.
University City is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They lost 51-28 to Morse.

Despite the defeat, University City had strong showings from Kianna Lefear, who posted 11 points, and Kami Demara, who scored eight points and three steals. Demara is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Keke Washington also deserves some recognition as she scored her first points of the season.
Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 65-46.
University City better focus on containing Ree Ree Davis and Clare Valentine as the pair were huge in Scripps Ranch's win. Davis went 12 for 20 en route to 27 points along with eight steals and five assists, while Valentine dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game. Katrina Purcell was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.
Scripps Ranch was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive matchups.
University City's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Scripps Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: University City has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Scripps Ranch struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
University City took a serious blow against Scripps Ranch when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 54-23. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Valentine, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 13 rebounds.
