Baseball Recap: North Mecklenburg Has No Trouble Against Chambers

While North Mecklenburg put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Chambers. The Vikings put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 15-0 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by nine runs or more this season.

Alex Beall was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for North Mecklenburg: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 6-7 otherwise. Beall was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI.

In other batting news, North Mecklenburg got a massive performance out of Jordan Patterson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The Vikings are undefeated when Patterson posts two or more stolen bases, but 3-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Ryan Clark, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2.

North Mecklenburg hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 3-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

North Mecklenburg now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Chambers, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. North Mecklenburg is set to face off against their familiar foe Hopewell at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as the Vikings come in on three and the Titans on eight. Meanwhile, Chambers will square off against rival West Mecklenburg at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
