Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Redondo Union was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They fell just short of Torrance by a score of 3-2.
Redondo Union also got a good showing from Robby Zimmerman, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, KG Hattori was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 4-for-4. Taehan Kim was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Palos Verdes has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Redondo Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Palos Verdes was able to grind out a solid win over Redondo Union when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 7-2. Does Palos Verdes have another victory up their sleeve, or will Redondo Union turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
