Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Unioto couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 66-65 to the River Valley Vikings. The Shermans' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

River Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Myers led the charge by shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double with 21 points and 12 boards. Myers is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 46% in the last three games he's played. Sawyer Weston was another key player, going 7-for-14 to rack up 19 points and five rebounds.

Unioto's loss dropped their record down to 23-4. As for River Valley, the win was the 17th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-2.

Unioto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for River Valley, they will welcome Maysville at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. One thing working in Maysville's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 14 contests.
