In what's become a running theme this season, the Marysville Indians gave their fans yet another huge victory on Wednesday. They breezed by Sutter on the road to the tune of 67-39. The win was familiar territory for Marysville who now have five in a row.
Marysville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abigail Pietz, who dropped a triple-double on 15 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Pietz is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Krystal Briggs was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Despite the loss, Sutter still got an impressive performance from Torrence Harter, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harter has scored all season.
Marysville is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for Sutter, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Marysville will take on Center at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Center will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 668th, while Marysville is ranked 198th). As for Sutter, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Wheatland at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th.
