Shawnee Mission Northwest won the last time they faced Olathe West and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars enjoyed a cozy 52-33 win over the Owls. The Cougars pushed the score to 45-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Owls cut but never quite recovered from.

Traimyre Woodruff had a dynamite game, rushing for 110 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 13 carries.

Shawnee Mission Northwest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Daquan Smith and Tyree Newton.

Several Owls players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Krzykowski, who picked up 218 receiving yards and two scores. Krzykowski showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 64 yards. Brody Hale was another key player, throwing for 218 yards and a pair of TDs.

Shawnee Mission Northwest now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Olathe West, their defeat was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.
