Benicia is 10-0 against Concord since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Benicia Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Concord Bears at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Benicia's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. Their tough 47-22 defeat to College Park might stick with them for a while. Benicia was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-8.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Concord, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-34 loss to Mt. Diablo on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Concord in their matchups with Mt. Diablo: they've now lost seven in a row.
Benicia dropped their record down to 3-19 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.9 points per game. As for Concord, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Benicia beat Concord 43-35 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Will Benicia repeat their success, or does Concord have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
