Softball Recap: Pueblo West Now 9-3 over Last 12 Games

Pueblo West barely beat Mead the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cyclones put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 16-6 win on Saturday. Considering the Cyclones have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kassidy Donley looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Pueblo West got a massive performance out of Acelyn Duran, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Duran a new career-high. Kiana Lambert was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double.

Pueblo West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Pueblo West is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mead, they dropped their record down to 9-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Pueblo West has already played their next matchup, a 28-1 win against Doherty on the 30th. As for Mead, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-11 victory against Fairview on the 29th.
