Baseball Recap: Covenant Academy Has No Trouble Against Windsor Academy

Covenant Academy came out on top against Windsor Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 13-run seventh inning. The Rams were the clear victors by a 20-9 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Asa Wood was a standout: he went 5-for-6 with five RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Ethan Mills was another key player, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Covenant Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 22 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Covenant Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Windsor Academy, their defeat was their 11th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-18.

Coming up, Covenant Academy will head out to square off against John Hancock Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Windsor Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
