Baseball Recap: Hanford Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hanford had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 victory over the Lemoore Tigers on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bullpups have posted against the Tigers since May 10, 2023.

Hayden Keeney made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Hanford is 5-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-11 otherwise. Keeney was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

Keeney wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Thane Herman, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Hanford's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Lemoore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanford will challenge Dinuba at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lemoore, they will square off against Tulare Union at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tigers are facing the Tribe at the right time seeing as the Tribe are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
