The Laguna Beach Breakers will take on the La Mirada Matadores at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Laguna Beach sitting on three straight wins and La Mirada on seven.
Laguna Beach is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against St. Margaret's on Thursday as they made off with a 19-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Breakers, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Dylan Yencho, who went 5-for-6 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lincoln Adams, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Laguna Beach kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.
La Mirada came out on top against Gahr on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Matadores skirted past the Gladiators 5-3.
Julian Pardinas got the start for La Mirada and what a start it was: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. Pardinas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, La Mirada let Michael Burgueno and Jesse Colon run wild. Burgueno went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Colon went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Laguna Beach's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for La Mirada, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Laguna Beach has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like La Mirada struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Laguna Beach came out on top in a nail-biter against La Mirada in their previous matchup back in March of 2021, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Breakers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
