Ethan Lopez was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two).
In other pitching news, Golden West got a great performance from Connor Stephens as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. Stephens also tossed a walk, which is notable because Golden West is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 2-5 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Cadillac Pina was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Christian Cain, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
The victory got Golden West back to even at 5-5. As for Porterville, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
