The Porter Ridge Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Hough with a sharp 61-40 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but Porter Ridge sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Porter Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Miley Malcolm, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Ashanti Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven assists and four steals.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kate Breault, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jacquelyn Jakubecy, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds.
Porter Ridge's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Hough, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Porter Ridge and Ardrey Kell will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ardrey Kell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Porter Ridge in North Carolina (Ardrey Kell is ranked 31st, while Porter Ridge is ranked 99th). Hough and Charlotte Latin will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Charlotte Latin is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
