Kaiser is 8-2 against Fontana since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Kaiser Cats will be playing at home against the Fontana Steelers at 5:30 p.m. Kaiser is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
Last Tuesday, Kaiser was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-43 to Eisenhower. Kaiser has not had much luck with Eisenhower recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Fontana beat Arroyo Valley 42-38 on Tuesday. Given Fontana's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while Arroyo Valley is ranked 1048th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kaiser has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Fontana, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4.
Kaiser was able to grind out a solid win over Fontana when the teams last played back in February of 2023, winning 47-40. Does Kaiser have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fontana turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
